Introduction
There are various ways to monetize your Instagram profile, but which is the best? We cannot say for sure which method is really “best” than the others, but what we can do is analyze the most common methods of earning money on Instagram and figure out which one is best for us based on different factors such as character, profile type, personal interest, etc…
I generally discourage going towards the path that seems easiest and most profitable to us, what I usually like to recommend is to go in the more circuitous route that allows us, however, to find a better and above all, more profitable and not short-term gain. But you are still free to choose which path you think is the right one for you.
So, how do you monetize your Instagram profile?
Earn money directly from Instagram
Although Instagram is not a platform that pays its creators like, for example, YouTube, there are still some methods to monetize your profile Instagram through certain features that the application allows us to activate after achieving certain results. The most annoying thing about these methods is that to withdraw the money we will be forced to have a VAT number (at least in Europe), which maybe a person just starting does not have…
The two simplest and most common methods on the app are:
Gifts that consist of actual donations from people who look at the post or reel, although this is not a particularly used method especially by people who look at our posts, I am also very sure that most people who will read this post will not even know how to make these “gifts.” This is precisely why I do not consider it a particularly effective method.
The second and certainly better option is subscriptions. Since relatively recently Instagram has added the possibility of monetizing our profile through the use of special subscriptions that our followers can pay monthly to secure special content that others would not would be able to see. The prices range from $0.49 to $5.49 and, in my opinion, they can be beneficial if we can offer content that is REALLY special for our subscribers. Besides that, we would also have the opportunity to get closer to our followers more and have a closer relationship with them. Unfortunately, until recently a bug made these subscriptions almost lethal for our profile, videos would start to get limited and our reach would drop precipitously, I don’t know exactly if this problem has been fixed, but I recommend you take note of it.
Methods outside of Instagram
The most profitable methods of monetizing our Instagram profile are mainly outside.
Sponsored content:
Upon reaching a certain visibility we will start receiving the very first offers of collaborations from external brands, usually these collaborations are much more lucrative than previous gifts or subscriptions. I always advise anyone not to sponsor or collaborate with just anyone, choose
well, and above all choose quality and seriousness. If you want to keep your followers and have a good relationship with them, you can’t spam constantly low-level collaborations.

Shop:
In case we are running a themed profile, the idea of having our merch with related shops can be great to monetize our profile. Look for also in this case to create merch with good quality, avoid selling the first shirts that will break after a couple of uses… Have some bit of creativity and always aim for quality.

Creating Courses:
I know, by now the idea of selling an online course only makes us think of one thing: Financial gurus. I fully understand that this may seem like an attempt at a scam
but I am sure that if we have qualities that people are willing to learn, the idea of creating a course tailored to them can be of great help both our pockets and their knowledge. There is nothing wrong with sharing our skills. Think about it because it could benefit both you and those who purchase the course.

Blog:
We are also in this right now, but how do I monetize a blog? There are two main methods to monetize our blog, the classic advertising provided by Google present in 90% of websites, or through affiliate marketing. In this case, both methods are recommended after reaching a certain level on our blog, I do not recommend anyone try to monetize their blog in the beginning, it would not bring any results. I consider this option the most difficult and complex but also the one, which in the long run, could ensure us a good source of income with or without our followers.
The choice is yours.
